What is the difference between static residential (ISP) proxies and datacenter proxies?

ISP proxies are hosted in data centers, but instead of using generic datacenter IP ranges, they use real residential IP ranges provided in cooperation with consumer ISPs.

By contrast, IPs that are not associated with an ISP (standard datacenter IPs) are generally easier to block.

Using real ISP-backed residential IPs makes your web scraping or automation traffic harder for target websites to detect and block, compared to ordinary datacenter proxies.
